The opening ceremony of Sekurit Meizhou Plant Phase II was held on April 23, 2024, marking a significant milestone for Saint-Gobain Sekurit in Meizhou. Esteemed guests, including Ludovic Weber, CEO of Saint-Gobain APAC Region, Eloi Guenet, General Manager of Saint-Gobain Sekurit Asia, Meizhou Mayor Hui Wang, Deputy Mayor Kun Jiang, and Deputy Secretary Xiao Xu from Guangzhou Automobile Group (GAC) Components Co., Ltd., etc. honored the event with their presence.
During the ceremony, Ludovic presented Saint-Gobain's global strategy, Purpose, and vision, emphasizing the company's pride in fostering connections with the city Meizhou. Eloi applauded the success and accomplishments of Sekurit Meizhou, expressing optimism for continued collaboration with local authorities and GAC to drive prosperity in Meizhou. In the end, Mayor Wang Hui delivered a speech on behalf of the Meizhou Municipal Party Committee and Government, expressing their positive intentions to continue cooperation with Saint-Gobain and GAC in pushing forward the development of Meizhou's economy.
Sekurit Meizhou was established in August 2020 as a joint venture between Saint-Gobain and GAC. The first phase of the project enjoyed an investment of 110 million yuan and was officially put into production in March 2021. In its first year of production, Sekurit Meizhou achieved sales of nearly 100 million yuan, with sales doubling in 2022 and exceeding 300 million yuan in 2023.
Based on the success of the first phase, the construction of the second phase production line was kicked off. It mainly produces large-size high-end automotive glazing, including dimmable glass that can be fogged. The second phase production line is equipped with the most advanced intelligent automation technology, with the goal of achieving a total output value of 600 million yuan after reaching full production in 2025.
The establishment and development of Sekurit Meizhou fully demonstrate the capabilities of Saint-Gobain Meizhou team. With great expectations and aspirations, we look forward to witnessing more outstanding achievements of Sekurit Meizhou.
